ABOUT LIFELINE CQA
CAMPUS - CORSICANA
Now opening in August 2009,
Lifeline CQA in Corsicana will be an extension of the original campus
in Tomball. ComQuest Academy was originally founded on the
belief that all children can learn and that education
is paramount to a strong society. ComQuest Academy
Corsicana endeavors to offer Academic and Career & Technology
education opportunities to all populations.
Lifeline CQA follows the mandatory credit requirements
determined by the State of Texas. The curriculum,
Star Spangled Skills, was developed by The Charter
Resource Center in San Antonio and is aligned with
the state-developed TEKS (Texas Assessment of Knowledge
and Skills). For this reason, students transferring
from the traditional school districts are able to
transition easily in most cases. ComQuest Academy
Corsicana believes in a "learning by doing" philosophy,
and tries to model classes after this philosophy.
Lifeline CQA will also be utilizing the
curriculum provided through Study
Island. This is a web-based and user-friendly curriculum that will
aide students in credit completion, acceleration and
recovery.
Lifeline CQA accepts 9th to 12th
graders from the Corsicana area and surrounding
vicinities. Lifeline CQA requires that high
school students participate in the program for workforce
development. Students will be required to have a job or
hold a regular
volunteer position and will earn elective
credit necessary for diploma completion. To
be eligible for the full credit, students are required
to work 15-20 hours per week.
